Any other person entering is buzzed into the center by authorized personnel and must present photo ID.<\/li>\n<li>Cluster supervisors are present whose primary responsibility is to maintain the safety of the children, guide staff and offer assistance as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>How are the toys disinfected?<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Equipment and toys are disinfected as they are used\/ at end of each day with hospital grade disinfecting solution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>How are health issues and illnesses handled?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>CCB has a health care employee on staff, full-time.<\/li>\n<li>Multiple other staff members are trained through the state to administer medication along with being CPR, First Aid, and AED trained. These persons dispense medications, cares for bumps and bruises, tracks illnesses at the Center, provides health training to staff, and tracks child immunizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>What is the ratio of caregiver to child at the Center?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>CCB follows the state regulations regarding care in the classrooms<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Infants 1:4<\/li>\n<li>Toddlers 1:5<\/li>\n<li>3 Year Olds 1:7<\/li>\n<li>4 Year Olds 1:8<\/li>\n<li>5-10 Year Olds 1:10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Do the caregivers participate in on going training programs?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Yes. NYS Law requires all caregivers to participate in a minimum of 15 hours of professional growth each year. Twice per year, CCB holds Teacher In-Service Training, with focuses on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Child growth and Development<\/li>\n<li>Early Childhood Education<\/li>\n<li>Child related topics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Will area elementary schools provide busing for school-age children to and from the Center?<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>CCB works in conjunction with Brighton School District. Registered children through grade 5 can be bussed to CCB after their public school day.<\/li>\n<li>Outside Brighton school district is still possibly, at the home school zone discretion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Does CCB enroll children on a part-time basis?<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Part Time enrollment is available for schedules less than 4 days a week<\/li>\n<li>Schedules are consistent, regular schedules each week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>How does the Center accommodate children with allergies and special needs?<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Food service program is able to provide dietary alternatives which are substituted to accommodate allergies or restrictions.<\/li>\n<li>CCB works closely with a variety of organizations to provide youngsters with support needed to meet their special needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>How does the Center select &amp; hire staff?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>CCB has a rigorous interview process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prescreening is conducted by phone for experience and degree qualifications<\/li>\n<li>Potential employees are then invited to formal question\/answer interview.<\/li>\n<li>Partial day Participation- Provide both parties an authentic look at the position<\/li>\n<li>Should employment be accepted- Feedback and reviews will be provided to help maintain staffing integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Boarding Employees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>References are checked based off OCFS regulations for staffing<\/li>\n<li>Fingerprinting for criminal records<\/li>\n<li>NY State Child Abuse Registry Screening and Staff Exclusion List (SEL) is done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>On what days is The Children\u2019s Center closed?<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Legal holidays (8 per year)<\/li>\n<li>In-service Teacher Training Days (2 per year)<\/li>\n<li>One week Shut Down (Last Week of August- coincides with an In- Service Training Day and Labor Day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Does the Center close for snow days?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>The Center only closes in the most severe weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Notification of closures are provided by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emergency Text Service<\/li>\n<li>WHAM radio (1180 AM)<\/li>\n<li>13WHAM-TV<\/li>\n<li><em>Democrat and<\/em> <em>Chronicle<\/em>\u2019s web site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\">The Children&#8217;s Center of Brighton is licensed by the State of New York, <span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocfs.state.ny.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.OCFS.state.ny.us<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>F.A.Q.&#8217;s about CCB Here are answers\u00a0to some of the*frequently asked questions that we hear most often at\u00a0the Children\u2019s Center of Brighton.
