Kindergarten Program – 5 to 6 year olds

7:30am – 3:00 pm Monday – Friday

Extended hours available 7:00-7:30 am, 3:00-5:30 pm, 5:30-6:00 pm

Our full day Kindergarten Program offers a balance of academic and social experiences.  We focus on providing developmentally appropriate experiences in each of the following areas: cognitive concept and skill building, social and emotional development and movement and motor coordination.  We believe the integration of these areas provides the optimal growth experience for your child.

The full day Kindergarten Program fosters independence and choice making, encourages problem solving and promotes creative and positive self esteem.  Children are offered the opportunity to work and play in a small, intimate community which encourages respect for self, others and their environment. The Kindergarten teacher intentionally plans experiences which allow children time and practice to navigate and negotiate their world.

Children are exposed to a variety of themes integrating language experiences, mathematical exploration, science inquiry and social studies concepts. Emphasis is placed on the use of manipulatives and encouraging observation, questioning and thinking skills. Group sizes are varied, enabling the Kindergarten teacher to support a variety of learning styles. Our low child to teacher ratio enables us to provide an individualized reading and writing program for each child.

Indoor and outdoor play is an important part of our Kindergarten day.
